There’s the obvious regular exercise, a healthy diet, enough sleep, do something enjoyable, reward yourself, take a break and a holiday from time to time. If you do not fulfil the above basics stop reading here. See to them first!
All of the above points have one thing in common; it is all about ‘You’ and they are inward focused. People who replenish their energy the fastest are in fact both inward AND outward focused, that is they focus on themselves as well as the wellbeing of others.
The secret to replenishing your energy levels quickly is through contribution!
Contribution is serving, teaching, entertaining, leading, directing, volunteering or helping others improve the quality of their lives. You don’t neccesarily require expertise knowledge (although it helps) in a particular area. You just need a desire and willingness to get your hands dirty!
Observe the mother who chases around and looks after her infant child all day long – her contribution automatically creates energy.
Or the personal trainer who effortlessly runs back to back classes whilst most are happy to have done a single session.
Or the public speaker who is able to speak for an entire day throughout an entire week or fortnight (that’s anywhere between 35-70 hours of speaking), captivating the audience and holding their interest because he/she is willing to share their experiences by being both inward and outward focussed. Their contribution automatically creates new energy.
Or the business owner juggling multiple businesses and their family life. The business is in some way a contribution to society.
It is really all about how much energy you have and how much you are willing to give!Energy is easily replenished through contribution, otherwise it is slowly dissipated.
What is the significance of it?
Energy is important because your possessions, achievements and successes are all based on how much energy you have. Energy is the fuel and motivation which drives you in your personal life and career.
Focus on regularly contributing to others and to as many people as possible.
